In early 1995 Darby opens her first design studio in New York at 260 West 39th Street in the heart of the garment district.
Newly married and with a decade of merchandising and design experience under her belt Darby decided to venture out on her own.
Darby Scott's first collection was designed out of her apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and produced in factories in the garment district.
As the orders started rolling In Darby secured and renovated a tiny studio with a showroom an adjoining sample making room on West 39th Street, close to her factories and suppliers.
